What Is The Plan As Modified by the RSC In October?

Based on feedback from the towns, the RSC modified the high school proposal as follows:

  • Keep the structurally sound part of Algonquin (3 story 1969 addition)

  • Use it as administrative space

  • Reduce overhead by leasing upper floors

  • Add a new building to the site 15,000 sq. feet smaller than previous plan by

  • Removing district offices (5,000 sq. ft.)

  • More efficient floor space using 3 story structure (10,000 sq. ft.)

  • Total size of 290,000 sq. ft.

  • Meets all state codes for reimbursement

  • Estimated construction cost reduced to $45,225,300

  • Maximum architect fee of $2,580,000

  • $45,225,300 + 2,580,000=$47,805,300 for total project[1]

  • With a 65% reimbursement,

  • Northborough would pay $18.5 million

  • Southborough would pay $11.3 million
