Curbside Recycling & Trash Collection 

Northborough provides bi-weekly curbside pickup of various kinds of paper,  glass 
containers,  metal food cans,  aluminum, and nos. 1 & 2 plastic. A drop-off 
center accepts yard waste on weekdays and some Saturdays; also Christmas 
trees, brush and hazardous waste on scheduled dates.

Recycling Regulations

All discarded materials  must be at curbside by 7:00 am for pickup.

Inappropriate material  left in bins,  such as plastic bags and improperly prepared cardboard, will not be picked up.



Trash Pickup Regulations

accepted (total per week limits): 

  • up to eight  thirty- gallon size bags or eight  thirty- gallon size barrels 

  • wood,  cut,  maximum of 4ft  lengths, tied

  •  latex paint,  dried only

  • furniture;  however,  there will be no pickup of  sleep sofas

  • tires  without rims, limit of 2

  • carpeting , rolled,  maximum of 4ft lengths,  tied

 

not accepted (large appliances such as the following):

  • refrigerators

  • stoves

  • microwave ovens

  • dishwashers

  • washing machines

  • dryers

  • air conditioners

  • water heaters

  • compactors

  • automobile  parts

  • rechargeable batteries

  • lead batteries 

  • button-cell batteries

  •  propane tanks

  • toxic  household products
